About Eravikulam National Park

Home to roughly half of the world's surviving Nilgiri tahr population. The park sits between 1,200 and 2,700m and has rare shola-grassland ecosystems. The Neelakurinji bloom that turns the slopes blue happens once every 12 years — next in 2030.

Insider tips

  • Closed Feb–March for tahr calving
  • Buy tickets at Munnar town office, not the gate
  • No private vehicles — park shuttle only
