About Sinhagad Fort
Perched around 1,300 m up in the Sahyadris, Sinhagad ('Lion's Fort') is the site of one of Maratha history's most storied battles. Today it is Pune's default weekend trek — a steep, well-worn path from Atkarwadi village takes roughly 1.5 hours, or you can drive most of the way up. The reward at the top is a ridge walk with valley views on both sides, plus stalls selling hot pithla bhakri, kanda bhaji and jaggery-sweetened curd.
