About Manek Chowk
Manek Chowk in the old walled city runs three completely different lives in twenty-four hours: a vegetable market at dawn, one of India's largest gold and silver bazaars through the working day, and from around 8 PM until well past midnight, a street-food bazaar. The night version is the famous one — ghee-drenched pav bhaji, sandwiches, kulfi and the local speciality, chocolate cheese sandwiches that sound wrong and taste right.
