The Brahmaputra at Guwahati is vast — braided, brown and slow — and an evening cruise is the best way to grasp its scale. Boats leave from Fancy Bazar and Kachari Ghat for one- to two-hour sunset runs, most with a snack or dinner service and some with live Bihu music and dance.
